The band was started from students of the now defunct Edinburgh Blues Academy,

and their live show blends gritty standards with timeless favorites.

The band deliver groove-driven rhythms inspired by the classic blues players and their modern-day legends.

Greig Taylor Band are playing from 8.45 till 10.00pm

Greig Taylor Band is a powerhouse blend of soulful vocals, blues‑driven grit, and modern rock energy. Fronted by Scottish singer‑songwriter Greig Taylor, the band has built a reputation for emotionally charged performances, tight musicianship, and songs that hit with both heart and swagger.

Greig’s voice—raw, resonant, and unmistakably his—sits at the centre of the band’s sound, backed by a lineup of seasoned, top class, players who bring depth, groove, and fire to every stage they step onto. Their music draws from blues, soul, Americana, and contemporary rock, creating a sound that feels both timeless and fresh.

With the release of their 2nd album, the band has earned critical praise, radio support, and a growing international fanbase.

The live performances showcase Greig Taylor's exceptional band, including his trusted drummer Dave Cantwell (ex-Big Dish and collaborator with the iconic John Martyn), former Marianne Faithfull and Big Dish guitarist Brian McFie, original bassist for Zal Cleminson’s Sin Dogs, Nelson McFarlane, and Kenneth Clark on keyboards.

*Unusually for Blues Clubs, all guests will get a seat. However due to the current demand only pre-pay persons at present are guaranteed a seat.

*Please also note that party's of 4 or more people can reserve a table in advance at nil cost but pre payment will be required.

*Drinks are at 'golf club' prices and car parking at the Golf Club is free.

*Non members of the golf club and children over 12 ( with a parent) are very welcome to attend

Our Venue

In the intimate atmosphere of the Prestonfield Golf Club function room, all guests get a comfortable seat and stunning views of 'Arthurs Seat' and the surrounding landscape. With an entry fee of only £5 for top class Blues entertainment, you also get free "off street" parking in our car park and visitors to the club will find our drinks prices at a very reasonable level. Doors open at 18.30 on club nights with the support act commencing around 19.30 The main artiste usually commences around 20.45 and last orders at the bar are at 22.00
